Hipódromo is part of a set of pieces that have been conceptualized from research into the construction methods used in Roman antiquity, in which Miguel Vieira Baptista studied the ways the various stone elements used in columns were joined together at the time. Hipódromo is made up of seven juxtaposing elements, creating a singular piece, thus contradicting methods that used mortar or extremely resistant metal and stone pieces.
